At the end of the summer, a Belgian lady who lived in Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca died. She went into her garden to take in some sun and died in the chair. This lady was a very kind woman who loved animals. During the years that she spent living in her modest bungalow, close to the Los Arcos Restaurant, Torrevieja, she took in many cats. When she died, she was looking after 23, all of whom were extremely well cared for and looked after, always receiving any veterinary care needed and all fully domesticated.
Soon after she died, her family came from Belgium to Torrevieja to sort her affairs and secure her property. She also had two dogs she adored and so the family took them back with them. The cats, unfortunately, were all turfed out of their comfy home and left to fend for themselves. Some of the cats found new homes and other places to curl up and sleep. However, there are still six looking for loving homes. Twice a day, we feed and water them, and as the cats are domestic pets, we get a lot of appreciation from the abandoned moggies. They are all well fed, bordering on chubby, as they need the weight to fight the winter chills. Mostly, they just want loving. They are beautiful animals of varying age in excellent condition who are extremely friendly, keen to approach and have a fuss and a stroke. They would make wonderful pets and have clearly been very well looked after indeed.
Update on Blanca.
Last Thusday 12th February, we took Blanca to the vet to be spayed.
After an overnight stay, she came back Friday evening. That was when we had an e-mail from someone wanting to adopt her. Today, Saturday they came and took her way. It makes you feel extremely happy while being very sad. She is going to be called Crystal.
Blanca is now back with us. She is on antibiotics which we hope will clear up the infection, then she will be blood tested to see if she has any other problems.
Blanca. is now fine apart from a gum infection. This is going to be sorted out on Thursday when she is going to have two teeth out.
